The GMAT exam is the first requirement of your MBA journey. The GMAT examines your quantitative ability to follow the rigorous curriculum of an MBA program.

Total GMAT scores range from 200 to 800 and the scores are valid for 5 years. A GMAT score of 600 is considered the minimum requirement for US schools.

All MBA applicants must take this test and report their test scores to their desired US school. At the testing center, before you start writing the GMAT exam, you have the option to report your test scores to 5 schools. Today, most business schools also accept GRE General Test scores for MBA applicants. However, acceptance of GRE scores is a newer phenomenon and students who are confident of only pursuing an MBA still choose to write the GMAT.

There is no particular undergraduate degree preferred or recommended by the MBA Admissions Team. You can have almost any undergraduate degree and still apply for an MBA in your chosen specialization.

You can be a current student in the last year of your bachelor's degree and apply for the next batch with the necessary documents that you have a good standing in the current curriculum and meet all the requirements until the bachelor's degree to finish. However, as we will see in the next section, work experience of at least 2 years at major universities is usually preferred.

Therefore, almost all b-schools prefer candidates who have at least 2 years of work experience. From my experience, 5 years of professional work is good to have when applying to top management schools.

Always submit a 1-page resume if your work experience is less than 10 years when applying for an MBA. A resume is a brief description of your academic and professional career and should highlight the most relevant aspects of your application. Write your experiences in chronological order.

Use bullets and with each bullet, ask yourself - "So what?". This question prompts you to write down what the business results are. In your resume, stop mentioning your activities, instead mention the results of your activities.
