Verizon Cell Phone Plans For Seniors 2020 - For people age 55 and older, Verizon offers unlimited talk, text and data plans starting at $40 a month.
If you're looking for a cell phone plan for yourself or a loved one, Verizon, one of the nation's largest cell phone carriers, is a great option. In addition to an impressive network, they offer a full range of devices from flip phones to smartphones.

FYI: For older adults, Verizon is one of our favorite providers. For our other favorites, check out our list of the best cell phone plans for seniors.
Best Cell Phone Plans In 2022
Verizon offers a wireless plan designed specifically for seniors, the Verizon 55+ Plan. This plan offers unlimited talk, text and data. It starts at $40 a month when you sign up for two lines. A single line will cost you $60 per month. Considering this plan includes service to Mexico and Canada and unlimited use of mobile hotspots, it's a great deal. Unfortunately, this plan is currently only available to Florida residents age 55 and older.
If you live elsewhere, I recommend the Verizon Start unlimited plan. This plan is a great deal, especially if you need more than one line, offering the same features as the 55+ plan (plus 5G access) for less than $30 a month. That said, just one line will cost you $70 a month.

If you are comfortable using the Internet, I definitely recommend purchasing wireless plans and devices through Verizon's easy-to-use website. Alternatively, you can visit one of Verizon's many stores where you can try out the phone in person.

With Verizon, you can either buy one of their phones or put your phone on one of their plans and only use one of their SIM cards. Currently, when you bring your phone over to Verizon's unlimited plan, you'll receive a $500 Verizon Gift Card that you can use toward your monthly bill.
If you're lucky enough to live in Florida, one of Verizon's 55+ plans will make a great, affordable option for anyone who wants unlimited data. While Consumer Cellular and Jitterbug both offer unlimited plans for similar prices, Verizon's superior connectivity makes them a better option.
That said, if you don't live in Florida, Verizon's unlimited plans are definitely on the better side of things. In that case, we'd recommend looking into one of T-Mobile's unlimited plans, which start at $27.50 per month.
The range of phones and tablets available on the Verizon website is vast. To help you wade through the options, here are my favorites for older adults.
The 5 Best Cell Phone Plans For 2022
Be ready to watch and listen to your favorite shows and movies in all their glory as this phone comes with a 6.4 inch HD screen and dual stereo speakers. It also has a really cool 48 MP triple camera system that lets you take album-worthy photos of your friends, family, and pets. Its built-in stylus is perfect for anyone who prefers to write on screen over tape. Priced at $249.99, the device would pair nicely with Verizon's Play More Unlimited plan or the more affordable Verizon Start Unlimited.
Many older people prefer the ease of using a phone with physical buttons. Here's one that fits the bill. The large fonts, tactile keyboard and clear screen of this phone make it highly readable. This is really helpful considering that research shows that one in three people will have some form of vision-impairing eye disease by the age of 65. I also like that this rugged flip phone comes with drop protection. Priced at $240, this entry-level phone is perfect for older adults with limited data needs. I would recommend using this phone with Verizon's shared data plan, which starts at $55 a month and gives you unlimited talk and text with 5GB of 4G LTE data and data transition.
Priced at $199, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a useful tech companion for older adults who don't want to strain their eyes using a small device. With 32GB of internal memory and a slim 8.7-inch design, this tablet is perfect for streaming entertainment content or catching up on the news. As this tablet has a durable metal frame, you don't have to worry about dropping it and damaging it. It comes pre-installed with a SIM card and Google Assistant when you don't want to use the touchscreen.

You may return a wireless device or accessory within 14 days of purchase, but may incur a $50 restocking fee. If Verizon needs to remove the installed device, there will be a separate charge. Therefore, it is better to carefully read the return policy before purchasing the device.
Military Discount: Veterans can also get a discount ($10 per month per line) on all Verizon plans by signing up on their website.
If you're looking forward to wireless plans with unlimited talk, text, and data, Verizon is a great choice for people of any age. Especially for people aged 55 and over, their unlimited plans are affordable and reliable, making them one of the best options for seniors.

This is a bit misleading as it is a monthly price for 4 lines! One line starts at $80/month. (Plans provided below are not recently updated plans)
Benefits? Are these not degenerate to all but the highest planes? I would also like articles like this one to list "infinite" limitations, especially when they're choked because that's what the design should be decided upon. I'm still on an old 16gb + 2gb rollover XL plan as I wouldn't want the throttling. My plan is cheaper than the cheapest Start Unlimited, which also has no throttle cap.

Verizon Transforms Yahoo Into A Wireless Provider With $40 Unlimited Plan, No Data Cap
In my case. I don't see any exchanges. I already have Apple Music. And a free year of Disney. So unless I'm missing something. I will have to keep Apple Music. Plus, it looks like Disney, ESPN+, and HULU will be coming out at no extra cost. With getting more plans.??
IReality85 said: There seems to be a big gap right now between having a plan where you can be capped at any time and 50-100GB of premium data. Where's the plan for people like me who don't use more than 6-8GB a month but want guaranteed data when we need it? Click to expand... I've been saying this for years. Prices for "limited" data plans are ridiculously high and most carriers have few options if you don't want "unlimited". (Not getting into the "unlimited" definition debate... IMO, all plans are capped, as the speed cap, or deprivation, is still a cap.)
That said, I used to share 15GB of data on a 4-person family plan on AT&T for roughly $120/month after taxes and fees. One line was something like $80/month. Today, if you go to AT&T or Verizon, most single-line "limited" plans top out at 8-9GB and cost around $100/month. If you need more or need a hotspot, you're basically forced to choose "Unlimited" and still stuck with fine print limits. The hotspot is limited to "4G" speeds, even when 5G service is available. The access point is limited to a hard or accelerated data limit of 128 kbps. Phone speed is subject to throttling after using 22GB in the discretionary limit.

Here's All The Free Stuff That Comes With Verizon's Unlimited Plans
It doesn't get much better here. We have Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. They always find a way to keep their account at least $100 a month. Unless you purchased a cheaper plan, by the time you switch plans you'll be paying around $100 again. PROGRESS!!!!! Or not...
