Boulder Station Hotel Casino Las Vegas - Boulder Station Casino is not in the heart of Vegas, no matter what the PR department says. One of the city's many station fringe casinos (including the more popular Sunset Station and the more conveniently located Santa Fe Station), Boulder Station is well known as a local favorite. In the same working-class category as Sam's Town, Boulder Station is also known for its casual atmosphere and decor, cheap buffets, and low-key rooms. Of course, if you're traveling further from the strip or the city, the lower prices are a big selling point. While Boulder Station is comfortable enough, it's charming enough — a bit plain, even by Vegas standards.
Of the many Las Vegas casinos in Las Vegas, Boulder Station has historically had one of the hardest times attracting visitors, earning it a reputation as the best local hangout. You won't find the same people as in Monte Carlo or Caesar's Palace or even on the Gold Coast. Retirees and working-class jocks flock here at night, along with a small group of out-of-towners looking for a cheap place to lay their heads.
Boulder Station Hotel Casino Las Vegas
The rooms are clean, average in size and not without their charm - but anyone looking for a glitzy Vegas vacation will be sorely disappointed at the Boulder Station Casino. In fact, there's very little in the hotel that suggests you're still in the gambling world - if it weren't for the slot machines and busy waiters, you could be in any casino in the country.

But rough around the edges is a trademark of many indoor casinos in Las Vegas - and it's not like you're too far from the action. Just over four miles from the Stratosphere at the north end of the Strip, it's easy to get to by rental car or taxi if you don't have your own car. Just because it's primarily a casino for locals doesn't mean Boulder Station Casino should be overlooked as a decent Las Vegas experience. Even if the interior has nothing but utilitarian to offer, when you consider that most Las Vegas casinos are located off the street, Boulder Station's appeal is magnified as it is one of the closest places to a large part of the city. Plus, it doesn't outdo many of its neighbors—it doesn't try to be too fancy, or too fun, or too family-friendly, or any of the niche markets that other hotels try to target. Boulder Station Casino is the Vegas equivalent of what you see is what you get, and for many, that's a refreshing change. And if you ever get restless and want to return to the city you see in the movies or on postcards, the Las Vegas Strip is just seconds away.
