A Hawaiian furniture store nicknamed Las Vegas' "Island of Nine" is the Valley's first mainland location.
Valyou Furniture celebrates its third retail location, including two in Hawaii, with the opening of a showroom at Tivoli Village Shopping Center. He is scheduled to be released on Tuesday.
The brand focuses on affordable luxury, offering shoppers stylish, contemporary homewares and furniture at a variety of price points, said Chief Marketing Officer Eddie Castillo. The showroom showcases a variety of style options from industrial to beachy.
“Having a millennial perspective on furniture is fresh and new, so people are drawn to us,” Castillo said. “In other showrooms, it might seem like everyone is trying to sell you stuff or the price is too crazy — it's too much of a discount. For us, it's more important: 'Let's help you live your best life by getting what you need. Sleep peacefully in your bed.'"

Valyou chose Las Vegas as its first location in the continental United States because of its proximity and cultural connection to customers. Products can be easily shipped from Vegas to California and Texas, where many e-commerce customers live, and the Valley's Hawaiian and Pacific Islander populations make the market a natural fit, Castillo said.
“Even though it's in the desert, it's a very small, integrated space. “So the public invitation is great. We see it as another island that is part of us.”
In addition to furniture, Valyo customers also get free interior design services. Out-of-state customers can also use the service via video.
Interior designer Amina El Kadiri says the service is popular with clients who don't know how to complete their projects or can't afford high-quality custom design services.

"It's a whole process," El Kadiri said. “We work with them in the store from start to finish. They can see the furniture in person, they can come to the store to make an appointment, so they can see when we're done working on their project.”
Valyou sources its inventory from six brands, including Mario Capasa, Ohdome and Lemons & Me. It has a selection of more than 10,000 items, the company said, and prices are designed to offer more variety to customers. For example, dining tables on his website range from about $200 to $1,500.
“We believe that furniture should be for everyone, not just for a select few,” he says. "Furniture is a passion, something you see in magazines and on TV, so you want to get that new age furniture without sacrificing price."

"Monte Carlo, we've done Palazzo furniture, we've been to Venice, we've done non-game things like Hampton Inn and the Cannery."

Lee says she works with local suppliers and hotels to know when to dispose of furniture.
"We look at the rooms individually, take pictures of the furniture, and then we judge whether it's really level, whether it's okay, really beat up, or whether we want it," Lee says.
"If we do something from a hotel, we'll have 200 of the same," Lee said. "If we're doing something from a global market center, there's usually only one thing."
Lee said he's counting on some capital reserves to keep the business afloat, but said it won't bode well for business if things don't improve soon.
