Portrait Studios Las Vegas Nv - What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Vegas? The most likely words are entertainment, gambling, the infamous slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" and probably a drive-thru wedding chapel. Fine art photography and museums don't usually make your list, but hidden beneath all the makeup and lighting, Vegas has a very active, creative and professional community of artists and fine art photographers.
Even if you can't find a place locally with a Picasso or Ansel Adams on display, you'll find incredible rising stars and established professionals looking for their eyes, interpretations, wall space, and where the moon might be located. Making it easy to find them at your favorite places to shop.

Just a few miles west of downtown Las Vegas in the affluent community of Summerlin, also named "America's Best Place to Live" by Money magazine in 2014, you'll find vintage-film-photographer Bobby's Gallery. wheat I recently stopped by his gallery in downtown Summerlin and was inspired by his work and amazed by his creativity. In a framed black-and-white photo, the art instructor explained how Wheat shot the photo from a normal perspective and reversed the negative during development to create one of the most artistic photos of the Golden Gate Bridge I've ever seen. I honestly thought it was a sketch until I got closer to it. Other works included fine art paper, exquisite wooden frames and acrylic triptychs.

In the summer of 2017, National Geographic added a sixth fine art gallery in Las Vegas, Nevada. Located on glitzy Las Vegas Blvd., aka The Strip, the Nat Geo Fine Art Gallery is located on the street level of the Forum Shops at Caesars. I found the easiest way to reach this gallery, as well as the other two links listed below, is parking behind the High Rollers Wheel, one of Las Vegas' main skyline landmarks. The gallery is filled with some of the most authentic and vibrant acrylic photographs I've ever seen, and that's what I appreciate most about this place. Unlike many fine-art photography galleries, where sales are the norm, this gallery captures the raw essence of the photographer's passion and proudly displays it.
When the Las Vegas Museum of Art closed its doors in 2009, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus' Marjorie Barrick Museum focused on art. His exhibitions include a 2010 photographic exhibition of paintings and sculptures by contemporary artists, famous American landscapes and black and white works by architectural photographer Ansel Adams. The museum consists of the East and West Galleries, the Brownstein Gallery and an auditorium. Exhibits, talks and events change so I recommend checking their website early or calling 702–895–3381. Exhibiting fine art photographers at the Barrick Museum is not unusual. Admission is free, but a voluntary donation of $5 for adults and $2 for children is suggested and appreciated.
If you are a landscape photographer you have probably heard of Peter Lick. The Australian-born photographer came to the United States when he was 8 years old and spent his 20s photographing America in the vast countryside. In 2010, he sold his first million-dollar photograph, "Forest," for $6.5 million, and then in 2014, his famous "Phantom" photograph of Antelope Valley, Arizona, to an anonymous bidder. He opened his first gallery in Lahaina, Hawaii in 2003 and in Las Vegas in 2005 at Caesars. All of his galleries in Las Vegas are everything you'd expect from Peter Lick: vibrant, modern and full of photographic goodness. This is a must stop every time I go to Vegas. Lick's corporate headquarters are also located in Las Vegas and it's fairly easy to find if you're a die-hard Lick fan like me. My only frustration with Lick Galleries is that the collections don't rotate very often.
In 2015 I was pleasantly surprised to discover the William Carr Gallery in Las Vegas Town Square. Unfortunately the gallery closed in 2017, leaving the Palazzo as the only remaining William Carr gallery in the Las Vegas area. The gallery is definitely worth a visit downtown, and exploring the palazzo and Venetian shops is also worth the time. On my last visit, the window display featured a large photo of the "Smokin' Good Times" sign located in the Fremont Street area. The rest of the gallery features large acrylic prints of the sea and beautiful scenes of Italy. There's also a secret "white room" with lots of different photos discounted for a quick sale. Carr is also known for hosting meetings, so be sure to check out his Facebook page.

Worth a visit, but perhaps on another visit, include the Richard Mark Gallery, the Wayland Gallery and the Fine Art Gallery inside the Bellagio.
Note: Some fine-art galleries you can find online but have since closed include: William Carr Gallery in the Shops at Town Square, John Knopf Gallery inside the Stratosphere, and Rodney Lough Jr. Gallery. The photographer, 15 years from now is trying to understand the person I am photographing and how she wants to reveal herself. We co-create an experience of a lifetime.
Hi, I'm Jennifer, and I've been a photographer for over a decade. I started as a wedding and portrait photographer. Then, I discovered Boudair and fell in love with seeing powerful women in a whole new light.
When I'm not photographing, I'm at home with my loving and supportive husband, my 12-year-old son, Rhys, and my 5-year-old daughter, Faith + our 2 adorable dogs.
