This is a great all-in-one, very compact kit for bikes with limited luggage space. For your peace of mind, I will often keep one under my back seat.
Remember... Any hole from a nail or screw can be patched using the repair technique and equipment.
If your tires have suffered a flat from a piece of metal or worse, unfortunately, this repair kit will not be able to get you home. Fingers crossed, you will have phone reception!
Step 2: Using pliers, work the nail/screw from the base. The only tools you'll need that don't come with the kit are the pliers. We recommend keeping one of the kit itself.

Step 3: Using the Reamer from your repair kit, ream the punch hole. It may seem like you will damage the tire more, but you will clean and enlarge the plug hole.
Step 4: Time to plug that hole! Thread the rubber cord plug into your installation tool and squeeze a generous amount of glue on top.
Step 5: Ram the installation tool into the hole with a good amount of force. Push the rubber cord plug and stick it deep until you get about halfway through the rubber. Then quickly draw the tool. The glue and the cord will stay firmly inside the base and the excess will stick out. See the picture below.
Step 6: Using the razor blade, cut off the excess cord and wait for the glue to dry. This should not take more than a few minutes.

Step 7: What makes this kit so special is that it also includes 5 x 16g CO2 cartridges! Your tires will deflate, so these cartridges save them.
It is important to note that this is only a temporary arrangement. It is recommended that you come to us for a more permanent repair.

Before I got on, I called to ask Mark at MCTW what was the last of the day I could bring my 2007 Yamaha Royal Star Venture for a mounting of dual Pirelli MT 66 Route tires. He replied, "These tires are from the 90's. Are you sure you want them?"
He remembered that we always discuss the newest motorcycle tires and long-lasting compounds. I assured him that I did since I had heard positive things about the handling, braking, rain traction, and mileage of the Pirelli MT 66 Route tires and wanted to try them.
Keep in mind that the Pirelli MT 66 Route tires are not radial - they use four nylon treads. However, this is mature technology that Pirelli claims offers a high level of ride comfort - important for long-distance passengers. In addition, the tires are available in a range of sizes that you do not always find in new tires designed for motorcycles.
I was replacing my worn Metzler ME 888 Marathon Ultra front bar and my 5000 mile Dunlop Elite 3 rear. I only had Metzelers on my front wheel for about 12 years, starting with my Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 and then my Royal Star Venture. .

I have tried many rear tires on my motorcycles, and the Metzler ME 888 has served well. However, Metzeler required 50 psi of air pressure, which killed my original Slime Tire Inflator. By the way, the nice people at Slime Customer Service told me that the standard Slime pump was not designed for 50 psi, but they sent me a new pump for free, but I'm at a loss. I tried Shinko, and it was laid out in 5000 miles. The first of two Dunlop Elite 3 tires gave me 9000 miles of service.
The first thing I noticed is that the MT 66 front and rear tire pair is quite a bit taller than any combination I've had on the Royal Star Venture. As I backed up my steep highway, my muscle memory was telling me that I wasn't up to normal. When I turned upright, I noticed that the nose of my seat, which Rick Butler had modified to be narrower, was now putting pressure on my inner thighs. Therefore, the Pirellis are higher - just a little, but noticeable.
I rode on the deepest freeway I could find, and the Pirelli MT 66 Road front track didn't have the grooves. I do a lot of lane splitting - legal in California - and because my Royal Star Venture is almost four feet wide, I regularly ride up and hit the high reflectors.
This time, I deliberately climbed on the reflectors and tried to make a straight cut on the sides of the reflectors. I noticed that the front end stayed really true and didn't bounce off the reflectors like the Metz 888 does. Both of these responses are confidence builders.

I practiced weaving in my lane at 70 mph when I was alone on the road. It took more countersteer pressure than usual to get my 1000 pound bike and rider leaning over and over again. A few attempts showed me that the MT 66 Route tires like to stay vertical.
This is good for my long trips to Sturgis and my occasional Iron Butt Saddle Sore Sore 1000, as I tend to ride the highways from gas station to gas station. It took some practice and additional input from the countersteer muscle to get the same breaking radius as any of my previous tires.
Our local canyons give me plenty of opportunities to test centerline divots. When I don't plan my turns well, or when I'm lazy, I hit these divots and I wish I didn't every time. They give me a strong shot of adrenaline every time as the bike usually leans over and now it is put in jars. I deliberately went to the divots and was surprised to feel more in control than with the Metz.
I used a long dirt conversion on a canyon road for the dirt test. I try to avoid dirt parking lots and dirt roads for fear of washing the front end. I was quite comfortable on the dirt and I felt that the Pirelli MT 66 Route got traction and did not ski on the surface.

Slow handling on the Enterprise is a recurring issue on the Enterprise forums. I raised the rear three quarters of an inch and went with a narrower size front tire. This custom combination really makes a big difference in the bike's slow speed handling.
The MT 66 tires want to keep the motorcycle upright, so it's ready to hit a stop sign or light and not wiggly at all. I was good at slow speeds before these tires. Now I felt like an expert as I arrived at each stop or pull along at a walking pace, straight ahead, no weaving or spinning.
For my first turn in a parking lot, I let out a vocal "whoa" because the bike wanted to fall in the middle of the break. That woke me up. I had to be more conscious of my slow pace after that. Not terrible, but actually more impressive than the Metzeler.
I did some practice panic stops and felt that the bike stopped faster than I used to with all my old tires, with the same pressure input and practice speed.
Where Pollution Hits The Road: The Growing Environmental Hazard Of Rubber Tires
My understanding so far is to save your money; instead of buying the new tires that are more expensive, buy motorcycle tires Pirelli MT 66 Route venere if you have an older bike. Pirelli offers less common sizes, and the tires cost about the same to install! It seems that less money spent does not mean less performance in this case.
I ended up getting 8000 miles out of the Pirelli MT 66 Route tires, with a drop in performance starting after 6000 miles on the tires. Strangely for me, the front and rear tires were worn at the same speed. Typically, my rear tires get about half the life of the front.
