The facility has a 2,300 SF dedicated medical simulation center that offers four flexible simulation rooms currently dedicated to OR, ICU, patient and ED technologies and procedures. The simulation center is known internally as a "jewel" due to the use of glass that provides full visibility between the flexible learning spaces, all the way to the Daylight Debriefing Suite with a backdrop of Milwaukee's beautiful Menomonee Valley skyline.
The facility also has a 4,500 SF Ambulatory Care Suite with 19 dedicated OSCE rooms, each with an Observation/Control Center, as well as a 900 SF 8 Station Clinical Practice Suite that is open 24/7 for student group practice during limited hours .
Following its academic mission, the glassy, four-story center is a "receptive and public space" — highly visible from southbound I-94 — as the university begins to transform Clybourn St. hallway. The building's new location also places the physician assistant program next to the Schroeder Complex, which houses other College of Health Sciences programs as well as the university's BioDiscovery District. for the mentally, physically and mentally ill with an emphasis on lifelong learning.
