The online application is also for the rental assistance program administered by RestoreHope, which receives federal funds from the state. Hall said they want to improve the process for people in need.

The "Jeff" Hall is referring to is the Reverend Jeff Janis, Executive Director of Restore Hope. Janes said Congress should reinstate the federal ban on evictions to address some of the fears and anxieties people face.
"I can't imagine being in a situation where you're trying to figure out where you live and trying to figure out if it's safe for your child to go to school or do distance education," Janes said.

Applicants must provide proof of loss of income or employment and a copy of the lease. Homeowners need proof of ownership of the property and a copy of their W9 form.
Commission Vice Chairman Gregory Robinson II asked Hall if property owners were resistant to accepting payments from the program, as The Associated Press recently reported on a similar program administered by the city.
"I wouldn't say we have a ton where tenants have applied and landlords have just said no, but what we do have, so to speak, is that there are fewer applications in some areas of the city that we know for rent." there are many apartments for rent. " Hall said.
"What we're hearing is that the landlord is saying, 'Well, it's great that you can catch them up, but what about the September rent?'"

Commission member Darrell Brighthall asked if help would be available before the Dec. 31 deadline set by the CARE Act.
"It's hard to predict, to be honest," Hall said. "Right now, I think we're all looking at what the federal government has allocated, which is what we're working on. So far, Tulsa County hasn't allocated all the funds that they've received, so we're hoping... It's always been our hope: that we can show more applicants that we have funding, that we can go back to the council and try to get more.
“Right now, no funds have been dedicated or allocated since December, and I think it will be interesting to see, honestly. Not to talk about politics or anything like that, but because of the new ban on CDC evictions, Jan. Is it a new tsunami, so to speak, or is it a new cliff for evictions? So our hope is to cover as much as we can between now and January."
Hall said grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. He encourages those seeking help from anywhere in Tulsa County to apply. More information about the program and how to apply is available on the program's website.
