Toyota All Electric Suv 2022 - Toyota Compact Cruiser wins, we get more photos, everyone wins. This FJ-inspired EV SUV concept has won a design award. Now it has to be made by Toyota, right? Is that right?
The cool Toyota Compact Cruiser concept that looks like a combination of an FJ Cruiser and a Land Rover Defender has been transformed into a Funko Pop! The sculpture has won the Car Design Award 2022 for concept cars, given by the Milan magazine Auto&Design. While that's cool and fitting, given the small EV's successful combination of immaculate looks, historical cues and the pixelated look that seems to be the latest trend in EVs, it's also an excuse for Toyota to drop a number of cars to let. showed the videos of the little guy.

Although many of the Compact Cruiser images here are "real world" images, the Compact Cruiser is - for now - a full size clay model. Seeing this model outdoors from multiple angles only increases our appreciation for the design team that created it at Toyota's European design studio known as Toyota ED2 (ED Square) in Nice, France. Toyota also added some CGI images of the compact cruiser on a simulated element and some images of the clay model being made.
Is The 2023 Toyota Bz4x A Good Ev? 6 Things We Like And 4 We Don't
There's no word yet on whether Toyota will make the Compact Cruiser a fully realized production vehicle, but hopefully some of its now award-winning design DNA will trickle down into any of Toyota's EV SUVs.
Toyota is in the midst of an all-out catch-up in the electric vehicle space. The automaker has pledged to launch all-electric new products by 2030, with many coming sooner, and today began previewing what some of the vehicles could look like. The expected EV sedan, several EV crossovers, yawn – a new pickup EV concept truck (!) And it's the Compact Cruiser Concept. You might just need to take one look at the small SUV to see why it stands out.
If your first thought when you see the Compact Cruiser is "the bastard of a Ford Bronco and an FJ Cruiser," you're not alone. The Toyota concept is a boxy, tiny 4x4 (or at least that's what we think of as all-wheel drive) with detailing, ridiculous flourishes and big off-road tires rattling out of every corner. It's about the size of a Bronco Sport. If its capability doesn't even match its off-road appearance, it's a natural competitor to the Ford, which is one of the few small off-road SUVs you can buy.
Of course, if Toyota were to build this compact cruiser as previewed here, the SUV would be electric. Maybe it won't directly compete with the petrol Bronco Sport, but hey, the Toyota will stand out either way - name another affordable, small, off-road EV SUV. We will wait.
Toyota Electric Cars: How The Japanese Giant Is Entering The Ev Era
So far, Toyota hasn't said anything about the Compact Cruiser or its future. We don't know what its powertrain is, but it's safe to assume Toyota's new EV platform - which sits beneath the new bZ4X EV crossover - will be a contender. That means two motors for all-wheel drive and a range of around 250 miles per charge.
Will Toyota build it? The automaker broke our hearts with a very similar compact SUV concept called the FT-4X. This mini 4x4 wasn't electric or promised, but it should be far more capable than your average small SUV. It was packed with smart features and even sported a vertical body stripe behind the rear doors, just like this compact cruiser. The roof profiles, overall styling, and stances of the two cars also overlap to a ton. We're hoping Toyota really nails this compact cruiser as it's the first fully electric off-road vehicle at a regular price. PLANO, Texas (June 2, 2021) – The Toyota bZ4X concept is below. Toyota offers a dizzying array of hybrids, but the company has been slow to embrace electric cars. That's starting to change when the automaker unveiled the new bZ4X concept.
Built as a preview of the upcoming production model, the bZ4X is a modern take on the RAV4 EV. Toyota didn't go into too much detail, but the concept has an angular front end with thin headlights and prominent air curtains. As for aerodynamics, a mesh grille sits atop a wide metal-rimmed hood.
Moving backwards we can see the long hood and pronounced wheels. The model also features shell glass, a gently sloping roof and a distinctive shoulder line. Other highlights include the angular rear window, the striking C-pillar and the eye-catching taillights that wrap around the sides of the vehicle.

The exterior might evoke mixed reactions, but the cabin is fairly traditional. The driver sits behind a three-spoke steering wheel and faces a digital instrument cluster with a cup-shaped bezel.
The design looks a little strange, but Toyota explains: "The low position of the instrument panel and the location of the meters above the steering wheel not only help to expand the car's sense of space, but also contribute to better visibility while being safe and secure." Location. Drive".
Elsewhere there's an opening center console and a separate infotainment system with a widescreen display. They are combined with a glossy black finish, minimalist controls and a rotary switch. We can also see a soft dashboard and a wide second row.
Toyota was very reticent about the specs, but confirmed the concept on the e-TNGA platform and was developed in collaboration with Subaru. Speaking of the latter, the company said the crossover combines Toyota's legendary quality, durability and long-term reliability with Subaru's all-wheel-drive capabilities to "achieve a comfortable and engaging driving experience."
