What Is The Most Affordable Luxury Car - The allure of a luxury badge can be strong, but high monthly payments can make some car buyers think twice about taking the plunge on a premium car. However, many luxury brands have expanded their selection in recent years to broaden their appeal and reach new buyers.
Much of that growth has occurred in the subcompact SUV segment, and three of the five 2021 models on our list — the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Volvo XC40 — compete in that category and start at less than $37,000, including destination. The Genesis G70 compact sport sedan and the Lexus ES midsize sedan, which start at $37,025 and $41,025, respectively, round out the list.
What Is The Most Affordable Luxury Car
And far from hot mainstream model variants (we're looking at you, Cadillac Camaro), these new entry-luxury models support, rather than tarnish, their respective brands. Read on to see what else—besides the affordable starting price—makes this luxury model worth a test drive.
The Cheapest Luxury Suvs You Can Buy From Brands Like Bmw And Porsche
Audi upped the ante on the Q3 with a redesign for the 2019 model year, giving the compact SUV a similar level of quality and technology to the brand's larger, more expensive SUVs. Powered by a 184-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, the Q3 has standard all-wheel drive and a responsive eight-speed automatic transmission. An extensive list of standard comfort and convenience features, including a panoramic moonroof and an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, enhance the Q3's value proposition. And despite its small footprint, the Q3 also offers good comfort in both rows.

The Most Affordable Luxury Vehicles To Maintain
The BMW X1 was recently redesigned for the 2016 model year, and the result is the largest and most spacious entry-level luxury SUV still available today. Powered by a standard 228-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the X1 is available with front- or all-wheel drive. Standard features include 8.8-inch touchscreen navigation, Apple CarPlay, and a power liftgate. The current X1 gives up much of the handling capability that set its predecessor apart from the competition and some of its controls have aged badly, but it remains a reasonably practical and luxurious premium SUV.
The Genesis G70 sports sedan impressed us from the start, winning the Best of 2019 award in its debut year, thanks in part to its engaging driving experience and relative value. Powered by a standard 252-hp 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, the G70 comes standard with rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission; all-wheel drive and manual are optional. A long list of standard active safety features includes automatic emergency braking, park assist on lane and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. There's a facelift on the way that brings the sedan's styling in line with the Genesis' new exterior design language, but the current version remains an attractive sports sedan.

A starting price north of $40,000 might not register as affordable for some of its ilk, the Lexus ES is priced like a compact luxury sports sedan while offering the interior space of a midsize luxury car. For the same starting price, buyers have two versions to choose from: There's the all-wheel-drive ES 250, powered by a 203-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, or the front-wheel-drive ES 350, which gets a 302-liter V-6 HP, 3.5 liters. Both sedans have a standard power moonroof, lane-center steering assist, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The Volvo XC40 debuted as a 2019 model, and it brings the Swedish luxury brand's design identity from larger SUVs like the XC90 to the subcompact class. The XC40's base engine is a 187-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that drives the front wheels; the all-wheel-drive version gets a more powerful 2.0-liter engine with 248 hp. The XC40 drives well and feels stable at highway speeds. Meanwhile, the interior has standard leather upholstery, and a 9-inch touchscreen serves as the main dashboard interface, replacing many of the physical controls. It's an intuitive overall system that includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. And despite the XC40's city-friendly dimensions, there's good front and rear room for adults.

A luxury ride from a luxury brand like Mercedes, BMW or Audi might not cost as much as you think – in fact, the cheapest car from any of these manufacturers will set you back less than an outgoing Honda Accord or Toyota Camry.
Or, if you're looking for something less German, top-selling Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, Volvo and Infiniti models all sell for less than the average new car price in the U.S., which Kelly Blue Book found to be nearly $39,000.

Those with a little money to burn might opt for the Macan, Porsche's cheapest model, which costs about half the price of the company's flagship sports car, the 911.
The GMC Canyon is GMC's alternative to the Chevrolet Colorado, thus offering a more attractive option. The 2020 Canyon could easily hover in the $50,000 range. A luxury nameplate can be desirable, but also one that seems out of reach for most car buyers. But fear not, we've highlighted vehicles from all levels of luxury automakers at prices that rival mainstream sedans or well-equipped compact SUVs. Among this list of vehicles, all models are under $38,000 including vehicles from BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Infiniti, and other brands with a reputation for luxury.
Of course, this list doesn't include fully loaded trim levels - which don't qualify as "cheap". But there are good deals, so if you want luxury at a reasonable price, this is the place to start. The list goes from most expensive to least expensive, so if there's nothing in your price range at first, be patient.
Thanks to its luxury peers seeing a price increase for 2021, the 2021 Infiniti Q50 is now featured on this list. Although the Q50 doesn't have the sportiest features, it comes standard with a 300-horsepower twin-turbo V-6 and is offered with a 400-horsepower twin-turbo V-6. The Q50 provides a comfortable ride, but the sedan's interior lacks a luxury feel. And it doesn't help that the Q50's dual infotainment system is difficult to operate.
Which Luxury Cars Have The Best Back Seats?
The Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is all-new for 2021 and this little crossover sees changes in all the right places. A more comfortable ride, improved technology and more crossover-like proportions raise the position of the GLA-class in this competitive segment. A turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 221 horsepower is the only power and all-wheel drive comes as an option. While the new GLA250 feels fast, the zero-to-60 mph time is half a second slower than the 2020 model despite having more power.
The Corsair is all-new for 2020, getting improved technology and a more refined interior that reflects the kind of luxury Lincoln strives to achieve. And for 2021, the powertrain options get another option: a plug-in hybrid that combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. Non-hybrid powertrains remain the same: On its base trim level, Lincoln offers a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and front-wheel drive. To get all-wheel drive, a more powerful 2.3-liter turbo engine, or some fancy features, the Corsair needs more dough.
The Genesis G70 is here to compete with the BMW 3 Series, and the performance sedan is new and affordable
