Variables that can affect your fare include traffic levels, time of day, day of the week, time of year, and community events. There are many Las Vegas transportation options available during your vacation including buses, shuttles, rides, as well as the monorail/tram system.
Below, we've put together a comprehensive list of transportation options in Las Vegas covering all budget and luxury preferences to help you plan your trip. As you will see, there are many ways to get around Vegas without a car.
In The Age Of Uber, This Pahrump Taxi Service Goes 'beyond Transportation'
All Vegas casino properties now have clearly labeled Uber/Lyft pickup locations. This mode of transportation has become popular because it is cheaper than using a cab and you are less likely to get a "long way" because Uber and Lyft drivers follow the instructions given by the app.
If you're ever concerned that a rideshare driver has taken a "pretty route," you can ask Uber or Lyft to review the ride to see if a refund is in order.
Don't forget to shop around for the best price, as there is often a price difference between Uber and Lyft, sometimes significant.
Taxi locations at resorts are usually more convenient than their driver counterparts, and cabs are always ready to go, which means there's usually no waiting for your car.

Although cabs are one of the fastest transportation options in Las Vegas, this convenience comes with a price. Fares are usually 20%-30% more expensive than rideshare apps, but cabs can be a good option if you want to fly quickly or don't have a smartphone.
Adding to the cost, cabs charge extra for using a credit card, so bring cash or prepare for a more expensive ride.
The most expensive and luxurious transportation option in Vegas is limos. Limousine services from companies like Presidential, Bell and Omni are usually billed by the hour and you can expect to pay around $60/hour for the stretch option.
The monorail may be a cheaper way to get up and down the east side of the Strip, which runs north from the MGM Grand to Sahara and Westgate. In between, there are also parking lots at Harrah's, Flamingo and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Lack of convenience is the main obstacle to the monorail as a mode of transportation as the station is a walk behind the resort. However, if you're okay with covering a lot of ground on foot, the monorail can be a great way to get up and down the east side of the strip and north of the Sahara or Westgate. Day passes for the monorail can be purchased in advance here.
The Deuce bus route runs up and down the Strip and connects to the downtown Fremont Street Experience. The stops are numerous, clearly marked, and located in front of almost every casino. Just start walking in any direction in the bar and you will hit one.
While riders can use the self-service kiosks to purchase a single, 2-hour or 24-hour ride through most stops, we recommend downloading and purchasing the RideRTC phone app, which is more convenient.
Buses run every 15 – 20 minutes during the day and the route is open 24 hours a day.

While the bus is one of the cheapest transportation options in Las Vegas, it is often not the fastest due to the number of stops. If you are in a hurry, use another mode of transportation.

Paid parking at many Las Vegas resorts makes renting a car a more expensive proposition, although there is still free parking on the Strip. Las Vegas Selected For New Fully Driverless Taxi Service
A new addition to the Las Vegas transportation scene, the Boring Company's Loop underground tunnel system is currently growing.
At this point, the Resorts World Loop station is open and connects the property to the Las Vegas Convention Center, which also has 3 separate stations that convention visitors can take advantage of to access the main complex.
Plans to expand the system across the city were recently approved by Clark County Commissioners. Under the plan, drilling companies would pay for the tunnel system, and resorts would cover the cost of their own stations if they wanted to opt in.
The plan (shown below) is to expand the system to include additional resorts, airports and downtown Las Vegas.
