Since this space is all about loyalty programs, Hertz offers a loyalty rewards program called Hertz Gold Plus Rewards. This software is primarily designed to store your driver's license, credit card and insurance preferences to allow for faster rentals allowing you to bypass rental legalities in many locations and letting you get out on the road faster.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards also offers the ability to earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Points. While we don't usually get a lot of value from rental car spots, they recently provided tremendous value from a trip when rental car prices skyrocketed during the pandemic when many Hertz locations reduced their fleets, driving up car prices.

Hertz Gold Plus Rewards offers three levels of gold, five stars, and the first-class President's Circle. It's around the Hertz Presidents Circle level where the benefits get interesting.

With redemption starting at around 950 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points, you need to spend a little to get free rent.

My favorite feature of the Hertz rental experience is the Hertz Ultimate Choice feature found at airports where the Hertz Gold Canopy service is offered.

Is It Worth Renting A Car In Hawaii?

Hertz Ultimate Selection offers the ability to "pick from the best cars in our newest fleet and hit the road." Airport websites in the US offer the best version of this, but there are certain sites that offer a great experience.

Usually, there is a sign showing where to park, along with a handy display showing your vehicle's location. Depending on the lot size, there is a corresponding large area.

There is also usually a sign dashboard showing your vehicle's location, as well as any messages. Depending on the size of the station correlates with the size and number of tenants on the sign.

As a member of Hertz President's Circle, as long as you rent a mid-range or better car, I can choose any car in the lane. As a result, the thing is usually very good.

The Great Hawaii Rental Car Crisis: Is It Ever Going To End?

There are weird times when you're stuck with boring old trash, but it's better than nothing. There are often several compact sport utility vehicles parked around, usually a Dodge Charger or two.

Summer 2021 Car Rental Experience: Lihue, Hawaii (kauai)

I mentioned that I had a $50 Hertz voucher from a previous rental where I had a car with a bad tire. I asked if I could retrieve this at the checkout kiosk, or if I needed to go to the office in the lot with my car number.

I went to the office and processed my $50 balance. I walked away with the keys to this amazing car with no upgrade fee, all thanks to Hertz President's Circle status.

More entertaining, the navigation system presents images of familiar Las Vegas hotel attractions. Regular visitors to Las Vegas will recognize the usual shapes and sizes of the MGM Grand, MGM Park (Monte Carlo), and the curves of Aria/Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.

While you can be careless in Las Vegas, it is very helpful to have a car. We were able to walk around and visit the In-N-Out Burger; Our favorite comes from Southern California.

The three-header concert by John White, Men at Work and Rick Springfield on Fremont Street Saturday night was no exception.

At the end of using it, I'll return the car at Harry Reid Rent a Car Center in Las Vegas before the flight back home. Although there were a few more cars Sunday night, the supplies at Ultimate Choice Aisle were still running dry.

It's amazing to see that while rental car companies have lost their fleets to the pandemic, they haven't really recovered. What becomes a line of more than a hundred cars descends into a handful, if you're lucky.

I will end up going to The Club at LAS Lounge Las Vegas before my flight home.

Potential Airport Car Rental Suppliers Encouraged To Attend Outreach Event

As I looked forward to the dizzying selection of vehicles in the circular Hertz head concourse at Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport, the experience was actually pedestrian enough.

Instead of having an impressive selection of vehicles to choose from, the selection is slim with a "take what you can get" environment. Fortunately, thanks to several very generous representatives, I got perhaps the best upgrade in the history of the Hertz President's Circle rental.

Ratings: Las Vegas Marriott via Alaska Airlines, Travel Reports Tags: Hertz, Hertz Presidents Circle, Hertz Ultimate Choice, LAS Summer Travel is in full swing and rental cars are hard to find. Between the high price and limited availability, this is the worst I've ever seen. Car rentals are usually the last item requested after you lock in your flight and hotel, but check availability before planning your trip. I booked with National and Hertz in April for a trip to Kauai last month (June). Fortunately, there are still a few vehicles available to order. I booked a full size SUV with National ($310 per week + tax) and a minivan with Hertz ($285 per week + tax). Due to the long wait (1.5 hours) with flights arriving later, I took both cars for my group as my flight from SJC to LIH was the first flight of the day coming in from mainland Kauai.

The National Rental Car reservation was handled by Alamo due to COVID so I took the shuttle bus to take the SUV. Upon arrival, the parking lot was full of cars and SUVs. I had no problem getting a Chevy Tahoe once my reservation pick-up time got close to the actual time. Hertz is located nearby
