Cell Phone Plans Over 55
Finding the best cell phone plans for seniors doesn't mean you have to limit your search to plans specifically for people 55 and older — although those plans do exist. But looking beyond seniors-only plans reveals plenty of options, some of which can save you big bucks on your wireless service, regardless of your age.
Best Cell Phone Plans For Seniors In 2022
After all, tracking down the best cell phone plans for seniors is the bottom line – you want a good value from a plan that doesn't take a big chunk out of your budget. With all the high costs around us, keeping your monthly cell phone bill under control can help keep costs down. And highly targeted cell phone plans can certainly handle high costs for talk, text and data.
That brings us back to your choices, starting with the most suitable plans from the best phone carriers. But if you are open to exploring the best prepaid phone plans, the set of options will expand. All you need to know is how much data you need from the best cell phone plan for seniors and what you're willing to pay.
That's why we've put together plans, from cheap options that give you just a few hundred megabytes to plans that offer unlimited data at amazingly fast speeds. We'll also look at plans to look after you if you travel. (And if your retirement years include a lot of globetrotting, check out our review of the best international phone plans to use on your travels.)
Be aware that seniors-only plans at AT&T and Verizon have residency requirements — something T-Mobile has made quite a fuss about. While AT&T and Verizon offer big discounts on wireless service to seniors, you must first prove you live in Florida and are over 55 to receive the benefits. In contrast, T-Mobile only requires you to be 55 or older. You can live anywhere to get one of T-Mobile's top cell phone plans.
At&t's New Shared Data Plans Won't Deliver Roi For Most
The other plans we looked at don't have age or residency restrictions, though Customer Cellular offers discounted rates for AARP members.
