GREENSBORO, NC - Amazon plans to hire more than 400 workers in the Greensboro area, a company spokesperson told WFMY News 2 Wednesday.
It is part of a company that employs 125,000 people across the country. Amazon is looking for delivery and order fulfillment workers and said the jobs start at $15.50 an hour.

A company spokeswoman said most of the 400 available jobs are at the Kernersville facility and a delivery facility in Rock Creek, North Carolina. Amazon nationwide has a starting wage of more than $18 an hour.
The company also provides health, vision, and dental insurance to full-time employees from day one, a 401(k) with a 50% company match, and up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave.
Amazon will also offer full college tuition to front-line workers as part of a $1.2 billion investment to increase the education and skills of the US workforce.
Amazon has three locations in the Greensboro area - a shipping center in Whitsett, a delivery center in Colfax, and a fulfillment center in Kernersville.

"Four hundred jobs is an opportunity to move the needle and put people back to good work," said Guilford Works Executive Director Chris Rivera.
"What it's providing is a variety of opportunities for the 14,000+ people in our community who are looking for work," he said.
