Amazon currently employs more than 40,000 veterans and military spouses in businesses including Operations, Sustainability, Alexa and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Amazon offers several programs to help transitioning service members and military spouses find gainful employment. This includes company-funded skills training in high-demand locations through initiatives such as Amazon's Technical Apprenticeship Program and AWS Restart/Start.
It helps participants learn new technical skills and land high-paying, in-demand jobs. Programs include Career Choice, Amazon's prepaid tuition program for employees who want to work in high-demand careers. The Amazon Technical Academy is a nine-month paid training program that provides non-technical Amazon employees with critical skills to transition and succeed in software engineering careers.
"Amazon is leveling the playing field for veterans and military spouses through our commitment to improving and providing jobs in high-demand occupations," said Eversole, vice president of the US Chamber of Commerce.

Coach Brian W knows all too well the challenges of transitioning from the military to the private sector. Brian said that transitioning from military service to civilian work was not an easy transition for him, so he is eager to help others going through the same process.
Previously, as a hiring manager and site manager at Amazon, Brian was involved in Amazon's end-to-end hiring process. He took phone screens, sat on interview panels and attended numerous information sessions.

These panels are conducted like any other part of the hiring process, but there is usually no specific role for the candidate to interview. If the candidate is shortlisted, the Amazon Warriors recruiting team will begin searching for suitable positions within the company. If the candidate is satisfied with the position and the hiring manager accepts the position, the candidate will be hired for the position without having to go to another panel.
Military veterans and spouses can apply for positions on the Amazon Jobs website like any other candidate and are not required to participate in Amazon Warriors panel activities. Having your military experience on your application and resume will be especially important in the normal hiring process.
