"This is not your typical Fairfield Inn & Suites," said Arch-Con Senior Vice President Mark McConnell, who heads the company's Central Texas region. Arch-Con, headquartered in Houston, opened an office in downtown Austin earlier this year to serve the region's growing market. "This high-rise luxury hotel is located in a popular, walkable location and offers views of downtown Austin, a rooftop terrace and balconies to enjoy the city."
Developed by RGB Hospitality and designed by MCS Architects, LLC, the Fairfield Inn & Suites will have 126 guest rooms and suites and feature a large lobby, lounge, dining area and amenity pantry. For an added layer of luxury at this Marriott-branded hotel, the hotel's three floors will feature an outdoor terrace, fitness center, pool and spa, function room, presidential suite and sweeping views of Austin. Many guest rooms are also equipped with an outdoor balcony. Outdoor lighting will illuminate the hotel and amenity decks. A six-level, 57,930-square-foot concrete parking garage provides guest parking.
The building is constructed of cast-in-place concrete on piers, with an exterior cladding that includes a combination of EIFS, metal paneling and glass. The hotel project is in a tight spot with Homewood Suites, only 11 inches from the site line, and so Arch-Con worked with the neighbors and our safety team for optimal placement and safe construction practices.

Arch-Con has built over a million square feet of hotel rooms for nearly every major hotel brand. The project will rise to a height of 192 feet and use a special tower crane that will rise from 10 stories to 19 stories as the building rises in height. "This type of crane that folds itself, or increases in height, is more economical and practical because of the tighter space," McConnell said.
The focal point of the high-rise hotel, which combines bungalow bars and restaurants, is a mature, magnificent tree on the Rainey Street property, which the entire project team and gardener are paying close attention to. This tree will be arranged at the entrance of the hotel keeping in mind the aesthetics of the area.
Fairfield Inn & Suites is slated to open in late 2022, expanding the walkable hotel options for Austin and this vibrant neighborhood.
