Verizon Internet Deals For Seniors
Verizon is trying to attract new customers to its premium 5G wireless plans with benefits and discounts on home Internet plans, including Fios, 5G Home Internet and LTE Home.
Verizon To Give Discounts For Bundles
Everything becomes competitive there. T-Mobile announced aggressive new discounts last month, and it looks like Verizon is fighting back.
Verizon announced Thursday that new customers of its unlimited 5G mobile plan will be eligible to save $25 a month on their home broadband offerings, including Fios, 5G home internet and LTE home internet.
Verizon Fios is the company's fiber optic broadband service, available only in the Northeast. Three plan options offer three speed tiers with top downloads of 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps. Select markets will also see an additional 2GB plan.
Verizon 5G Home Internet is a fixed wireless Internet service that uses the company's 5G network and is available to more than 30 million customers nationwide. Its download speed is on average 300 megabits per second and in some places it can reach speeds close to gigabytes.

Finally, the company's LTE Home Internet is another fixed wireless Internet option for areas where Verizon's other broadband products aren't available. Its maximum download speed is 50 Mbps.
The discount requires new customers to enroll in AutoPay and sign up for one of the company's eligible 5G wireless plans: 5G Start, 5G Play More, 5G Do More, 5G Plus Unlimited and 5G Mix and Match mobile plans. .
The company previously had a discount where unlimited cell plans could qualify customers for $25 off Verizon 5G home internet. So the news here is the addition of the highly rated fiber service, Verizon Fios. Customers can get internet service for $25 a month if they take advantage of a discount on the Verizon Fios 300 plan or the Verizon 5G home internet plan.
New Verizon Fios customers who subscribe to eligible 5G mobile plans will have their router rental included in their monthly rate ($15 per month savings). Previously, only gigabit and 2 gigabit customers received free router rental. In addition, Fios customers will receive a price guarantee under this new discount plan - two years for the 300 plan, three years for the 500 plan and four years for the 1 and 2 gig options.

In order to receive all the above Fius discounts, new customers must also register in the company's Fius mobile + home discount program. Also, existing Mobile + Home customers will not automatically migrate to these new discounts. Instead, they must enroll in the new program through the My Verizon app or visit the Savings and Promotions Center through My Verizon Online.
In a press release announcing the moves, Verizon encouraged new customers to ditch cable and use its services instead. It's similar to T-Mobile's "Internet Freedom" campaign that launched last month. In both cases, the companies hope to connect new customers by breaking out of the traditional cable internet companies' approach. Apple is upgrading the HomePod speakers. Verizon Fios Plans, Prices, And Reviews
Verizon is getting a little more aggressive with its efforts to grow its home internet base. On Friday, the carrier will extend its offer to drop the price of its 5G home internet and 4G LTE home internet options to $25 a month for more customers than those who subscribe to its latest and most expensive unlimited options.
The new deal, which goes into effect tomorrow and is available for a "limited time," offers a discount to any Verizon postpaid user who pays $30 a month for service on one of their Verizon wireless lines. This includes cheap or legacy Verizon plans, from the carrier's more affordable unlimited plans (like 5G Start or Welcome Unlimited) to multi-year subscription data plans.
At a discount, you can add Verizon's 5G home internet for $25 a month, or half the regular rate (with automatic payments enabled). There are no additional data caps or speed limits, and you can still take advantage of Verizon's 10-year price lock guarantee at this low rate. Other benefits, such as the free gift card the operator offers to new users, still apply.
However, Verizon credit users are not eligible for this deal, and you must be a new Verizon home internet customer to be eligible. Existing wireless and home internet users should check the offers section of the My Verizon app to see what options and discounts are available to them, the carrier says.

If you're on a family plan where everyone doesn't live in the same place, you can sign up for multiple 5G or 4G LTE home internet options at a discounted rate so all addresses can get service. Verizon says it provides home wireless Internet to more than 40 million households, though you'll need to check your address on its website to see if it's available where you live.
For those living in areas where Fios is available, the carrier said the offer will expand next week to include a wired broadband option.
Verizon's move closely follows a move by rival T-Mobile, which earlier this month began offering similar discounts on home broadband to those who already subscribe to its wireless phone service. Like Verizon, T-Mobile dropped the rate for its home 5G Internet service to $25 per month, unless you're an existing T-Mobile Wireless customer who doesn't already or recently had home broadband from the carrier.
Matt Coakley, vice president of segment marketing strategy and planning at Verizon, says the carrier was "aware" of the T-Mobile deal, but with the offer, the carrier "just wanted to make sure it got a little bit more savings.
