How La Niña May Impact Winter Weather In The U.s.
The warm weather is expected to continue into this week, when the weather service predicts temperatures will reach the mid-seventies.
When does the temperature last longer than 70? It was the cold season of 1936 to 1937, when the January high was 55.17 degrees.
The month marked the first February in recorded history when temperatures in downtown Los Angeles did not exceed 70 degrees, according to the Weather Service.
By February 12, the temperature reached 69 degrees. But it turns out that the high point in the month brings snow to communities that haven't fallen in years.

Only six times since 1877 has the temperature been below 70 degrees for an entire month. February's average high of 61.5 degrees is the eighth coldest on record and the coldest since 1962.
Although February did not provide warm days for residents, cold spots were near normal levels. The average low for the month was 46.5 degrees, about 2 degrees below the previous average, and warmer than the February low in 2011.
The average temperature during the month was 54 degrees, the lowest temperature for any month since January 1979.
Climate scientist Daniel Swain told Curbed last month that climate change has significantly increased temperatures in Los Angeles, which is unusually cold for February.
Weather Forecast For Friday, Jan. 6

Although it may not seem like it to some residents, the temperature in the area did not drop below 40 degrees in February. Two of them were taken to a local hospital. 4 hours ago
