Today's infographic comes to us from HowMuch.net and shows the largest business in each state by revenue, based on 2017 data.
Walmart, which is also the largest private employer in many states, had a whopping $486 billion in revenue. That's more than double the amount of each of the next giants, including ExxonMobil, Berkshire Hathaway and Apple.
While most of the "big" states such as California, New York and Texas are in the top 10, it is worth noting that Arkansas (Walmart), Rhode Island (CVS), Minnesota (UnitedHealth Group) and Nebraska (Berkshire Hathaway) are twist in this context.
Furthermore, some of the country's most populous and economically successful states do not have a company on the top 10 list. Florida's largest company (Publix) brings in $34 billion a year, and Illinois' largest company (Walgreens Boots Alliance) brought in $117 billion - knocking it right off the list.
