Niche.com in the US has just released its annual ranking of the best public high schools in the US, and New Jersey is well represented at the top of the list. Read more: NJ's Best Public High Schools: 2022 Rankings Released
Fourteen New Jersey schools made the top 100 best public high schools in the country, and Princeton High School was ranked No. 66. The high school received an overall grade of A+.
The website has also released rankings by state, including a breakdown of the top public high schools in New Jersey.
The top prize went to High Technology High School in Lincroft, followed by Bergen County Academies in Hackensack.
Rutherford County Schools
Princeton High School was ranked #9 on the list of Best Public High Schools in New Jersey. It ranks 17th out of 422 in the state for best public high school teachers.
Niche's 2022 rankings contain academic and student life data from thousands of schools across the country. The most important factors were academics, but Niche also considered culture and diversity, teachers, clubs and activities, sports and more. You can read more about Niche's methodology here.

Top 5 Best Private Schools In Gloucester County (2023)
More than 100 New Jersey schools are among the best in America, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2018 ranking of the nation's top high schools. The highest ranked New Jersey school on the list was 22nd (see full list below).
The 2018 Top High Schools ranking was released Wednesday and rated more than 20,500 public high schools. ONS News identified the schools that best serve all students and assessed how prepared students are for college-level work. Schools are also recognized with gold, silver and bronze medals, which indicate the highest level of college preparation.
Twenty-three New Jersey schools received gold medals, 39 received silver medals, and 41 schools received bronze medals.
While the overall ranking was dominated by schools in Arizona compared to other states, New Jersey's performance was compared to the US. 28. Pennsylvania ranked 14th.
Weehawken High School
The state-by-state performance rating was based on the states with the highest percentage of schools with gold and silver medals. Based on this statistic, Massachusetts was the top performer, followed by California and Maryland.
"The top-ranked schools succeed in three main areas: exceeding expectations on state proficiency tests, offering a challenging curriculum, and graduating their students," said Anita Narayan, editor-in-chief of education at US News, in a press release.

To determine the rankings, US News teamed up with RTI International, a social science research firm. Various data sources were used, including the Common Core of Data, the College Board and the International Baccalaureate.

A four-step process was used to rank all eligible schools. The first two steps were to determine whether students were outperforming statistically expected in the state and whether the state was outperforming the average for minority students, which was the second step. The third step required schools to meet or exceed certain graduation criteria and the final step was to determine college readiness. (You can read the full methodology here.)
