SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - If you love driving a car, but no one can actually afford one, does it really exist? That's the dilemma facing the 2022 Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid, a well-packaged midsize SUV with an excellent electrified powertrain that seems out of Ferrari's reach. Even the all-electric EV6 Sorento PHEV, which lacks Kia's offerings and is subject to dealer labeling, is relatively rich. As of this writing, there are 68 EV6s for sale in the greater Los Angeles area, but only 25 Sorento PHEVs.
