That's what hundreds of thousands of disabled, elderly and economically disadvantaged Ohioans face. But some of these people say the company entrusted with their care, called Provide A Ride, is leaving them confused.

And Give A Ride isn't a small mom and pop operation. This is a company contracted by Managed Care Organizations such as CareSource, the largest Medicaid program in Ohio. Providing rides they claim to be experts in handling people with special needs. But that's not how customer Nancy Kavick always feels.
"There are people who look down on people with disabilities and people with low income. Like us they are at the bottom of the totem pole and we don't care," Nancy told us.
And it's a big problem if those people are your lifeline out there, like providing A Ride for Nancy. You see, he suffers from dementia and can't drive. So, the company that manages his Medicaid benefits, CareSource, pays Provide A Ride to take him to several doctor's appointments.
But he says he doesn't do a very good job of providing rides at all. He told us, "There have been four different situations where they didn't show up at all, they took me in the wrong direction, there was one person who was supposed to pick me up, and then someone didn't pick me up. Then I got picked up by another driver, and that driver didn't pick me up.

In fact, when we were waiting with him to go to one of his preparations, they arrived 45 minutes later. And according to the driver who finally arrived, he didn't look his best as he prepared to head home.
She told him she asked to be picked up between 3:15 and 3:30. But he replied, "I can't make any promises about that."

But Nancy and Russell say the company has a lot of miles to go before providing what they call a quality ride.
