Pros And Cons Of Home Schooling

Pros And Cons Of Home Schooling - Homeschooling can be the most fun of your life, or it can make you want to pull all your hair out. Often it is both. How do you know if homeschooling is for you? What are the pros and cons of homeschooling? As someone who was homeschooled for most of my education and then entered public school in high school, I have seen first hand the benefits homeschooling has had in my life and the challenges I have faced as a result. As a stay at home mom of five, I also realize how difficult it can be! Also, my husband challenges me to share the pros and cons of homeschooling from a father's perspective. If you're serious about homeschooling your kids, I encourage you to grab a pen and paper and follow along with me. Add your favorite goodies and baddies to watch for your family or save them for later so you don't miss them!

Before I explain the pros and cons of homeschooling to you as a parent, I want to take a moment to talk about it from a homeschooler's perspective. What did I like? What problems did I face? I think this will help you see not only how it will affect you and your family, but especially your child.

Pros And Cons Of Home Schooling

Pros And Cons Of Home Schooling

Other kids may have a different list, but these were the pros and cons of homeschooling for me. As you can see, the list of positives outweighs the negatives, and it did for me when I was a kid. I LOVED being at school, I cried when I went to school in 2nd grade, every day until my mother took me out. I was bullied when I tried school in 6th grade for a year and I hated it. And don't even get me started on high school, combined with being much younger than everyone and feeling like a complete fish out of water, made high school very difficult for me. But I still had my best friends, my church youth group, and my home where I would be alone and that kept me going.

Homeschooling Vs Public School (pros & Cons)

As a stay at home mom, my perspective has changed A LOT! Now I had the chance to experience the sacrifices and challenges my mother faced! I'm sure this list will change over the years, but over the past 5 or 6 years, this is what I've come up with so far.

For me the good is too much. I could have a messy house, I could find online support groups, I could find free homeschooling options OR we could be willing to invest more in our children's education. It's cheaper than private school! I enjoy racing *most days* and I'm a better person because I'm less likely to be lazy (because I can be lazy). And best of all, homeschooling DOES help! Very interesting! It's not just a list of pros and cons to me, it's a lifestyle I love and can't imagine giving up anytime soon!

While I'm writing this and making sure I've covered all my bases, I decided to go to my husband, Jonathan, to ask him what he thinks the pros and cons of homeschooling are. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Since his list was completely different from mine, I realized we just had to end this post with a complete thought. So there you have it, the pros and cons of homeschooling from a dad's perspective! When trying to decide whether or not to homeschool your children, it is important to consider the pros and cons of homeschooling.

Housewives often have different reasons for choosing this option. Some of the reasons some families choose to homeschool include:
