F-1 International Students (New Men): F-1 visa holders at both the Atlanta campus and Perimeter College must complete the online Start @ State modules, but may not register or attend New Student (NSO ). Instead, after completing the I-20 process with International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS), you will be invited to attend a mandatory virtual academic advising session where you can register for classes from your home country. [Attending the advising event instead of NSO will satisfy your NF hold and allow you to register for classes.] You must attend International Student and register from ISSS one week before classes start.
Transfer Students: Students who are accepted to transfer from Perimeter College to an undergraduate program on the Atlanta campus are not required to attend New Student.

Transfer To Georgia State
Students must attend a new student session to pick up their new row. The hold is not lifted when you register as a new student, but when you attend a session.
The new student fee is not covered by any kind of scholarship or loan, and there is no tax. All fees must be paid in advance for new student attendance. Transfer applicants are those who have attended an accredited college inside or outside the United States and have earned more than 30 transferable hours or 45 transferable credit hours.
Pay the application fee. There is a non-refundable application fee of $60 in Georgia. Online applications will only be processed if they have a fee attached using a credit card or checking account system. Paper applications will only be processed if accompanied by a check or money order.
Transfer applicants must complete 30 semester credit hours or 45 quarter credit hours of college-level coursework. If you have not met this requirement, you must submit an official high school transcript and electronic scores from the SAT, ACT, or both.* For more information, see our requirements for first year international students.

Scores are not required for transfer students unless they have earned less than 30 hours of transfer credit. In that case, they must fulfill all first-year student requirements.

Georgia requires an international credential evaluation for international students who have attended colleges or universities outside the United States. Students must apply for all course evaluations through a NACES-approved academic credentials verification service.
