I agree with your time frame. I have been to Ireland 1/2 dozen times since 2014, usually in the last 2 weeks of May, the weather has always been great. I did a trip in October for the last 2 weeks, it's a little different. I encountered the most rain in October, but not enough to put me off traveling.
