The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program is the federal government's main program to help low-income families, seniors and people with disabilities find affordable, safe and clean housing in the private market. Because housing assistance is provided on behalf of the HCV tenant, participants can secure their own housing, including single family homes, townhouses, and apartments. Housing Choice Vouchers are administered by Public Housing Agencies (PSAs) that receive federal funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer the HCV program. This means that the tenant, landlord and PLHIV all have duties and obligations under the HCV program.
Owners are always encouraged to participate. For more information, contact the Housing Office at (562) 929-5588 or visit the Landlord Resources page.

Section 8 Emergency Housing In 2023

First, applicants must define their marital status. Definition of household by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
According to HUD, a household is defined as one or more people living together. Surprisingly, no blood relationship is required to be considered a family member. Individuals, singles, roommates, or parents with children can all be considered a household by HUD.

Basically, any income that must be declared for tax purposes will be considered by the PHA as income that affects the level of household income.
Such as salary, commissions, tips, investments, inheritance, unemployment, insurance claims, legal settlement, pension, social security, disability, social insurance, computers or employee achievements, etc.
