Hill Haven Manufactured Home Community - The facility is located at 1550 Imperial Blvd. It's near the Webster/Penfield border and has been in business for over 40 years. 350 nursing home workers will be transferred to other workers within the health system.
"Hylve Haven is a key part of our community," said Jim Graziano, senior vice president of Rochester Regional Health Extended Care. "After months of thought and careful consideration, we are announcing the retirement of the building, but not the legacy our employees will bring."

Several factors led to the decision to close Hill Haven, including changing community needs and an increase in home and transitional senior living and health care options. Nursing homes across the state and nation are experiencing similar patterns, RRH officials say.

The New York State Department of Health has already approved RRH's disclosure plan. A specific closing date has not yet been determined. The facility was first opened in 1968.
Hill Haven has drawn attention over the past year for having the most COVID-related deaths (67) of any nursing home in Monroe County, according to state health department data.
Nursing home Medicare rates are also considered below average, according to government agencies. These ratings are based on health screenings and assessments of the quality of care provided by staff and residents. While healthcare is above average, health screenings are well below average.
All Hill Haven employees will receive details of new positions within the health system within the next few days. They were warned that they were closed on Tuesdays;

As for Hill Haven residents, RRH officials said social workers and case managers will help them transition to other facilities and return to nursing homes. RRH officials said the facility has a 288-bed license and currently houses 175 people at Hill Haven.
