In Rhode Island, Providence's Classical High School took first place. It also charted at number 91 on the US Top 100.
Best Charter High Schools In America
Overall, Rhode Island's high schools are ranked eighth nationally. Massachusetts and Connecticut took first and second place, respectively.
According to U.S. News & World Report "The methodology focuses on six factors: college readiness, literacy and math skills, reading and math performance, poor student achievement, curriculum breadth, and graduation rates."
College readiness is measured specifically by participation and performance on the Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests, and underperforming students are concentrated in black, Hispanic, or low-income families, he added.
