“The staff/hosts I followed were amazing professionals. They were very knowledgeable, took the time to explain the steps they took, gave lots of advice and were always available to answer questions. I would definitely recommend this program to others as it confirmed my career choice and allowed me to have lifelong experience with patients and doctors. I've learned more about medicine this month than I have in four years of studying."
Shadowing Programs For Pre Med Students
During the pre-med shadowing program, you enter a clinical setting and see a doctor from the US. You will be exposed to patient-physician interactions as they occur in real time and observe how care is delivered.
Clinical: How To Get The Most Out Of Shadowing In Medical School
These clinical experiences provide insight into what life is like as a doctor, an important opportunity to confirm your goal of attending medical school and becoming a doctor. It is also an opportunity to explore specials, which can help you create your study area before your study and save time and resources.
Standing out in medical school applications requires more than good grades and competitive MCAT scores. The first shadowing experience gives you hours of shadowing and gives you real world experience for your CV.
Real-world medical settings provide you with language and skills that better prepare you to talk about your interests and experience during medical school interviews.
Helps you request a quality-based diagnosis from your treating physician. Because the author's credentials are as important as the content, and an LoE from a practicing physician carries more weight than a letter from a course instructor.

Shadow experiences prior to treatment can exceed experiences in clinical settings. Past students often share how their teachers progress by providing case studies, articles or videos to enhance learning.
Participating in a pre-med program puts you one step ahead of your peers. It gives you real-world experience to refer to in your application and improves your productivity.
"This has been the best experience I have ever had with any doctor." As a student, I underestimated several doctors. Although I felt I learned from all of them, they all seem boring compared to this experience. The doctor prepared slides of various cases and reviewed those cases with us. He even asked us about that information. He had my full attention 100 percent of the time.” Program fee $3,450 due 120 days prior to start date (payment plans available) covers all hospital experience, personal physician consultation, luxury accommodation, in-house meals, transportation of the home, full safety equipment and program-recognized graphics, medical certificate experience, a reference from a university and a letter of recommendation from a personal physician.

The program has been updated for 2020 to operate safely in a manner resistant to COVID-19 in the organization's main location in the Dominican Republic.
Hello everyone! I recently attended the Global Pre Meds program from July 18-31. I loved to love the show. I met amazing people, ate great food, stayed in a beautiful villa, did what I loved, and the overall experience changed me as a person. I was just on the phone and living in the moment. The staff was wonderful and held many activities to keep everyone involved such as salsa lessons, barbecues, movie nights, karaoke nights, yoga, etc. Before going to the show, I thought it was very expensive, but it was worth it to me. I would do it all over again if I could. The only negative thing is that the COVID-19 protocol seemed rushed, many of my program colleagues were nice and felt left alone. As for COVID-19, I personally felt safe (wearing masks, rapid testing available, etc.), but be prepared to be out of pocket too if you contract COVID-19, hopefully a Better plan in the USA!
DOG If you share the video anywhere else, I failed! All credit goes to Maya Wide. He attended the program with me from July 18 to July 31, 2021.
Doctor Shadowing Opportunities
Global Premeds has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The counselors were dedicated and knowledgeable and everyone working at the house was very friendly. I learned a lot and made a lot of new friends! I recommend doing this program even if you are not interested in medicine because it is an eye opener! If you are interested in medicine, this program will definitely confirm that interest and give you tons of real-world experience that will help you a lot in your future in school.
Thanks to Global Pre-Meds, I was able to follow doctors in the emergency medicine department at Doctor Aristides Fialo Cabral Hospital in the Dominican Republic. It was a very eye-opening two days. We faced many cases from something as simple as a broken leg to something as complex as pulmonary edema! There's always something going on in the ER! There were discussions about how to become a doctor in the DR, how their health system is different from the US, common diseases in the region, and many other topics. Other than that, the show did a great job and gave us a well-deserved break. Many times as pre-meds we stop taking time to rest because of how fast paced our daily routines are. Global Pre-Meds offered medical exposure as well as time to sit by the pool or swim at the beach! One of my favorite parts has been connecting with Pre-Meds from all over the world and seeing where each of them are in their journey. I've met students who haven't even started college, are in undergrad, are on a gap year, and haven't even started medical school! Someone even got his MCAT score during the trip (yes, he killed it and we all screamed)! I will never forget this experience!
I would allow the students to see some specialties in the hospital during the two weeks in the program.
Time in the hospital and at Global Pre-med is a time you will never forget! The staff and other students who followed were amazing. When I first arrived at Global Pre-Med House, I was nervous about making friends and enjoying the experience, but when I left, I didn't want to go home! The relationships you build with the locals will last forever. I recommend this program to anyone who wants an insight into healthcare abroad and wants an eye-opening experience about life in another country.
A Review Of Atlantis Pre Med And Pre Pa Summer Shadowing Programs — The Pa Platform
Being a part of Global Pre-Meds placement was one of the best experiences of my life!! Having the opportunity to see how healthcare works in another country while meeting a diverse group of amazing people from around the world is life-changing. I did a two-week training in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and during that time I became very close to the other students I had. It really felt like a little family by the end of our stay. Anyone looking to gain medical experience while enjoying the beauty of other countries Global Pre-Meds is your answer!! Amazing staff, amazing peers and an overall amazing time.
Keep your mind open to anything and be free. Remember what doctors and nurses teach you, because especially when you're working in medicine, it's always good to have a few extra tips from people in the field.
I highly recommend Global Pre-Meds to anyone who is interested in the health system in another country, who is willing to improve their knowledge and adapt it later during their studies or career. The things you learn and see in the hospital, as well as the friends / doctors / organizers you meet there - everything stays with you for life. No need to worry beforehand - the Global Pre-Meds team is friendly, helpful and communicative. So, if you have the opportunity to attend this course - make it happen. Modesta Ralita
My name is Lizette Magana, I am a nursing student and I completed an introductory program in August 2019 in the Dominican Republic. Being a part of Global Pre-Meds was one of the greatest experiences, I enjoyed every second of my experience.
