Enterprise Named Best Rental Car Company By J.d. Power
Each major group of car rental companies offers roughly the same rental locations. But the enterprise park is the largest. Although this does not guarantee that the enterprise will always have a free vehicle, the enterprise has more vehicles to drive.
However, note that Avis, Budget and Hertz offer car rental in more countries. So these brands may be the best option depending on where you are going.
Each of the major car rental groups has a global presence. But which option offers the most?
We don't have time to count all the places ourselves. So here's a quick overview of coverage of each group of car rental companies based on recent investor reports.
Hacks For An Affordable Car Rental In 2023
The company boasts more than 9,500 offices in nearly 100 countries and territories, while Alamo has 1,100 offices in 84 countries.
Compared to its counterpart, the Hertz brand offers fewer locations (about 8,500) but more countries (146). Avis offers even fewer offices (about 5,500) but the most countries (165). This makes it difficult to determine a single winner based on the number of seats.
Since the number of seats gives mixed results, let's focus on each company's fleet size. Here we find a clear winner.
By 2022, the enterprise fleet has increased to more than 2.1 million vehicles. Meanwhile, Hertz Group reached 547,400 vehicles, and Avis' rental fleet averaged 479,672 vehicles in 2022.

After researching prices on hundreds of car rental options, we've determined the cheapest and most expensive airport locations, whether to book in advance, wait until the last minute, or drive downtown instead of renting at the airport.
This analysis also revealed the cheapest and most expensive car rental companies, and there were winners and losers. With comparable weekly rents, the company offered the lowest rates (average $480) and received the highest rate Nationally (average $695).
All other car rental companies behaved similarly, ranging from $542 to $589 per week.

Avis Preferred offers a competitive minimum rental income rate to businesses. However, Avis' very short validity period can make it difficult for travelers to accumulate points over time.
Travelers earn 1 Enterprise Plus for every dollar spent on car rentals, excluding taxes, fees, fuel and surcharges. Free rental days start at 600 points.
This means you can get a free rental day for a rental fee of $600. Enterprise Plus points will only expire if they are inactive for more than 36 months (three years).
Avis Preferred members earn 1 point per dollar spent on rentals, 2 points per dollar spent on accessories, and a minimum of 100 points per rental. Reward days start at 700 points, meaning you get a free rental day for seven rentals.

While Avis Preferred has no blackout period, reward days are tiered based on the standard base rental rate. When you buy 700 points, you'll get up to $50 in free rentals at the base rate.
The downside is that if there is no qualifying activity at least once in 12 months, the Avis Preferred Points will expire.
Gold is the primary level in the Hertz Gold Plus rewards program. Like Avis and Enterprise, Hertz members earn 1 Hertz Gold Plus Rewards for every dollar spent.
However, Hertz has evaluated its Gold Plus rewards programs twice in the past three years, usually with little or no notice.
Can You Rent A Car With A Debit Card?
At the time of writing, Hertz Gold Plus rewards start at 950 points for 1-day standard rewards or 1,900 points for 1-day AnyDay rewards. These are higher payment rates than those charged by Avis or Enterprise.
The company accepts this competition unanimously. The company offers the largest fleet, lowest prices and the best car rental loyalty program.
