The best tool for international students! user friendly. Thanks to my career services office for extending this to us! Taking your first steps to help people with work can be a daunting task. Many people began enrolling in educational programs designed to help and improve the profession, creating a long-term workforce with talent. The talent pool is always growing with people of the same education, so what exactly gives you an edge over your competition? Fortunately, many big-name organizations have created and implemented programs designed to give young professionals a chance to make their mark in the philanthropic community. In this article, we will examine the programs offered by the largest humanitarian organization in the world: the United Nations.
The United Nations Young Professionals Program (YPP) is a two-year program designed for professionals interested in working with the United Nations. After submitting the first application, interested candidates must take the YPP test, which consists of a written part and an oral part. Candidates who pass this test are placed on the P1/P2 list for assignments within the Young Professionals Program. From the list, candidates can be offered a contract for a fixed period of two years for placement in P1 or P2 positions. From this program, participants have the option of moving to a full-time, permanent position in a variety of ways. More information about the process, including FAQs, can be found on their website.

To be eligible for the Young Scholars Program, applicants must be from a participating country, have at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, and be 32 years old or younger. Fluency in English or French is also required. Additional questions regarding eligibility can be found in the FAQ section of the website.
This program is an entry point for young people to take the first steps towards employment in the UN sector. It is managed by the Secretary of the United Nations and aims to help first-time professionals start their international careers as civil servants. The motivation associated with this program attracts many people, and the program takes about 40,000 person every year, which means competition is fierce. All applicants must pass an exam to be assessed, and if accepted, continue to take the exam every year. YPP standards are different, they vary by sector, so each test is tailored to the job applicant's preferences. The topics presented in the exam also vary with seasons, and reflect the current needs of the United Nations. In general, each course will be offered annually, so no two exams are the same. Topics range from social and legal issues to statistics and management, and test preparation is provided online to help students prepare.
It is important to note that passing the test does not automatically get you a job. There are also other qualifications that must be met. For example, the test is only open to citizens of certain countries, and the list of eligible countries changes every year. Applicants must be under 32 at the time of application, have a high average grade at university, and be fluent in English or French - bonus points for both! If hired, program participants are offered professional development opportunities throughout their careers. A new professional can expect to earn anywhere from $37,000 to $80,000—both strong salaries for entry-level aid workers. You really have to do some research and preparation to have a chance to get into the program, but if you're dedicated and driven, it's a great option. United Nations Entry Level Humanitarian Professional Program (EHP)
EHP is a new recruitment (and repatriation) initiative run by UNHCR - the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Another entry point to the United Nations, allows external applications to become full-time and expendable employees. Participants in this program will enter the United Nations at the P2 level and must be willing to take assignments anywhere in the world. EHP works as a team, bringing together people with similar interests and goals to share information and work toward a common goal. This system has shown great success, and participants in this program report high levels of satisfaction.
