It's not just Hopper. After months of steady declines, the latest federal inflation report released last month showed airfares rose about 1 percent between August and September. We expect this number to continue this month.

So why is domestic air travel increasing now? It's not just inflation: seasonality and travel demand are a big part of it. But an increase in average prices does not mean that all flight prices are increasing. We are finding great deals on cheap flights in the US over the next few months or into 2023. An example of this is Las Vegas (LAS).

But overall, there's no doubt that domestic flight prices are rising. October data shows more travelers are searching for and booking vacations. But there's still plenty of value available if you know where to look.
