DURHAM, NC (WTVD) - For 23 years, Triangle real estate owner Latrice McFadden has noticed something different from her peers: few are like her.

An entrepreneur at heart, McFadden left a career in human resources at a prominent Raleigh firm to pursue a career in real estate. He quickly saw the difference.

"Customers are losing money because of price cuts. The prices are very reasonable," McFadden said. "I had a client make an offer on a house, we went over the listing (price), paid $10,000, the seller was not disappointed and the house sold within 30 days. Overpriced for $17,000,000."

Organizers say they believe the new program will help close the gender wealth gap. McFadden spoke to the program with three people, including his 21-year-old daughter.
