3890 S Nellis Blvd Las Vegas - On a recent road trip out to Nevada, we stayed at the Las Vegas RV Resort. The purpose of this trip was to see places that have been on my bucket list, including Hoover Dam, Lake Mead Recreation Area, Valley of Fire State Park, and the Vegas Strip.

It is also just down the street from Sam's Town, the hotel and casino on Flamingo Road, and a few miles from the Boulder Strip. For reference, this property is 60 miles from Valley of Fire National Park, 51 miles from Hoover Dam, and 24 miles from Lake Mead Recreation Area.

When I did my research, I saw that this is a year-round RV resort with great rates starting at $29 per night for one of the base sites. And since the campground has 389 full hook-up sites with over 100 pull-out sites, I didn't have to worry about making a decision.
During our stay, rates ranged from $29 to $48 per night, and with plenty available - and for Vegas - the rates were a steal. Most hotels on the strip charge a lot in tourist fees alone. When I was at Treasure Island in December 2021 I paid $40 per night in "resort fees".
The campsite has deluxe, premium, standard and XL pitches. The main difference between the standard and the other three is the amount of space you have next to the motorhome for barbecuing and parking an extra car.
If you want a camping experience at the resort, there is one cabin on site but it seems to be fully booked every time I check availability. It is fully equipped with a full size kitchen, appliances, dishes, microwave, sofa, armchair, cable TV, towels and linens.

After my research, I reviewed the cancellation policy, paid for the five nights by credit card (debit card also accepted) and received my booking confirmation.
What made this trip even more appealing in March is that the weather in the area averages 72 degrees during the day and drops into the 30s at night, making for a cool night of sleep
Summer in the desert can get a little hot. Highs can be expected to reach the triple digits and stay there until midnight at times, then drop into the 70s. Last July it was 117 degrees in Las Vegas at 7pm and at midnight it was still over 100. Although dry heat is 100 degrees it is still 100 degrees.
The resort is located in Sunrise Manor, which is in Clark County, and at the foot of Frenchman Mountain. It is also a short walk from Boulder Station Casino.
Review: Las Vegas Rv Resort
When we pulled into the RV park on S Nellis Blvd, we drove about 100 feet until we came to a guard booth where I showed my photo ID and reservation number. After completing the contactless registration, one of the staff directed us to our page.
There were no additional costs at sign-up or deposit; we received property rules and instructions and went straight to setting up our campsite.
If you need help setting up or maintaining your site, be sure to ask a member of the team who will guide you to the campsite. You want to make sure that you don't incur incidental costs by backing up a sewer or water connection.
There were two campers in our group on this trip and we were a few hundred feet apart, but it was no more than a 60 second walk to each other's campsites.

The first thing that struck me about the resort was that there was no grass or dirt. This was the first campground I experienced where the entire area was a concrete slab - basically a large concrete lot with painted lines for parking and hookups for your unit. Between each place was a range of red rocks; this was on the utility side of the RV where the water and electrical connections were.
I was very surprised by the number of units that were here. There was everything from small teardrop wheels pulled on the back of a car all the way up to a large Prevost bus.
The area was well appointed with everything within walking distance of your site, including bathrooms and showers, laundry facilities, a dog park, an outdoor pool and hot tub, and clubhouse that looked empty because of the pandemic.
The building was also close to dozens of grocery stores and restaurants. We brought everything we needed to cook and didn't have to go to any stores, but if we did there were plenty of options.

There wasn't a dedicated picnic area on the property, but if your site isn't big enough, you could always ask about using the swimming pool or clubhouse.
We were allowed to enter at noon and check out time was 11am. If you need to arrive earlier or stay a little later, stop by the front desk and see if they can offer a special check-in or checkout.
We were in slot number 288 which had a full water hookup, 30/50 amp power and sewer lines to drain the gray and black tanks. Since each site had a concrete slab, there was no reason to spend extra time leveling the unit as it appeared to be perfectly level.
Each slot had a picnic table but no fire ring. Campfires were not allowed at the Las Vegas RV Resort because you are pretty much on the sidewalk the whole time.
Rv Parks In Nevada
We were in a good spot where the dumpster was on the other side of our site, so it was a short walk away.
Since you are in the middle of the desert, there was not much shade in the area. You will find palm trees scattered around the property, but not enough to make a difference in cooling your unit on a hot summer day. The good news is that Vegas has a dry heat and not full of humidity like we have here in Florida.
The atmosphere during the night was very safe around the campsite due to the 24 hour guard booth at the entrance. If you had any questions or problems in the garden, you could stop by at any time.
The security guards took very seriously who was coming in and out of the park. Anyone entering the park had to have their permit or ID checked at the guardhouse.
Las Vegas Rv Resort Reviews Updated 2022
Since the campground is adults only, it was very quiet at night. There were no children running around chasing each other or splashing in the pool. People respected the hour of silence that started at 10pm every night.
(Note: If you're traveling with kids in your group, Sam's Town Journey KOA Las Vegas is right next door.)
We ended up cooking in our apartment every night, so we'd sit out there and cook dinner and chat on the porch before it was truck time to load up for the next morning and head out.
The property appeared to be taking very poor guest safety measures, along with increased cleaning of the bathrooms. There wasn't even one time during the day when I walked into the bathroom that it wasn't freshly cleaned or smelled of disinfectant (but it wasn't overwhelming).
Las Vegas Camping
The bathrooms are spread over four main buildings. Three of the houses are independent with toilet and shower facilities. They are located a few minutes walk from each campsite.
Then there are the main women's and men's bathrooms next to the clubhouse and the swimming pool. They are a regular toilet design (as opposed to a private room with locks), so you don't have as much privacy as you would in your own bathrooms at the RV park.
The bathroom was well maintained and clean. You can tell that the facility was cleaned several times a day. There are many stalls in the bathrooms next to the clubhouse. The facilities located in independent buildings are limited to individual stalls.
The shower facility was very nice. Those scattered around the property were also regularly maintained and included a mop to clean up after. The tiles got very slippery when they were gone, so for your own safety and the safety of others, consider wiping off the water after showering.

Both dog parks were in a gated area and the resort has a relaxed no pet fee policy. Aggressive breeds such as Rottweilers, Pitbulls or Dobermans are not allowed. I recommend contacting the resort manager prior to arrival for details on pet policies.
The password-protected Wi-Fi signal was good enough for checking email, but being so close to town you're much better off
